Sundays at 9:30am through May 13: New Intergenerational Sunday School Class: Not A Fan.
Wait a minute - aren’t we supposed to be fans of Jesus? A fan is defined as “an enthusiastic admirer.” But in the Gospels, Jesus never seemed too interested in fans. Come and explore the difference between being an “enthusiastic admirer” of Jesus and being His completely committed follower. Open to High School and above.
Fifteen middle school students and six leaders headed to NorthBay Adventure Camp in Maryland for the Breakaway retreat on the weekend of October 14. The camp is in Maryland on the Chesapeake with some wonderful views of the bay - especially as you are zooming down a zip line! Many of our students starred in a talent show, showing off their comedic and dancing skills. We overcame our fears on a high ropes course, roasted marshmallows over a bonfire, and sang praises to our Lord with hundreds of students from all over the Philadelphia area. As we heard stories about "Zac" (Zaccheus), "Rich" (the rich young ruler), and "Nick" (Nicodemus), we were challenged by Andy "Bullet" Anderton to put Jesus at the center of our dreams and let him empower us to live the abundant life he promises to us. It was a great weekend of growing closer to each other and growing closer to Christ.
Our youth families had a lot of fun playing and relaxing at St. Alban's Swim & Tennis club.
High School Summer Service Plunge: The Philadelphia Project
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, but in this case the testimonies of our students are more powerful than any images we could post online. Please pick up a sermon CD from August 21 to hear firsthand from some of our students how God worked in the lives of those in need in Philadelphia, as well as in the hearts of our students who were serving them.
